**Job summary**:
The Performance and Risk Management Team is responsible for UK Strategic Command (UKStratCom) Performance Management and Risk Management processes and functions. They are part of the core Integrated Staff that sit at the heart of UKStratCom and are responsible for the efficient and effective running of the Commands Performance Management/Risk Management processed and meetings. These include running both the Delivery and Performance Group meeting and Risk Sub Committee and the associated reporting regimes. They are also responsible for all the performance and risk reporting that leaves this HQ for MOD Head Office and the requisite collection and approval of data. This role is specifically responsible for the delivery of all internal and external performance reporting relating to the TLB.

This role should support the optimisation of the whole TLB Performance through performance management of delivery against the Command Plan objectives. The aim of this work should be to provide timely exposure of drift from expected performance and identify what actions if any are required by either the Delivery and Performance Group or the Commander UKStratCom. This will allow decisions to be taken on the mitigating actions and reallocation of resource as required. Furthermore this role will own the production of all external Performance reporting as required by higher headquarters.

Support holding the HLBs and Functional areas to account for delivery as set out in the Command Plan and by MOD Head Office.

Support the Headquarters and HLB by providing advice on Performance Management related issues. Support a continuous improvement culture which draws from wider organisation and outside Defence.

The post reports to Performance Management C1 (SEO, MOD Band C1) but has exposure across the Headquarters and HLBs.

This position is advertised at 36/37 hours per week Tacos Dependant (London post only)

**Job description**:
Performance Management
- Actively engage with stakeholders, across all HLBS and UKStratCom HQ, to enable effective performance management processes.
- Provide input from Performance Management into delivery of the UKStratCom Command Plan ensuring effective Performance measures and targets recorded against Command Plan Objectives.
- Collate and analyse the information and reports provided for the Delivery and Performance Group and support the delivery of the appropriate slide pack to support the meeting.
- Take information provided for the DPG and adjust to support all required external UKStratCom reporting.
- Deliver UKStratCom’s performance reporting regime. Work on continuous improvement including the deliver of a digital solution.
- Provide support to the DPG and the risk teams, and any other supporting meetings as appropriate

Holding to Account
- Support the Holding to Account processes ensuring information is correct for holding to account of subordinate organisations and headquarters functions. Provide the required Performance information and monitor delivery of any actions that output from the process.
- Provide secretariat function to support the Holding to Account process.

Communication and Engagement
- Maintain close links across the integrated staff to include Strategy, Plans and Resources, Portfolio and Finance teams to ensure information is presented consistently and delivers a coherent approach championing Performance Management as needed.

Performance and Risk Centre Of Excellence
- Identify possible digital solutions that could further improve the efficiency of both the team and the outputs building on future role out of new technologies.

**Person specification**:
Experience of MOD’s Performance and Risk Management processes and the ability to interpret, understand and present complex information would be an advantage. Previous experience working in a head office role would be useful.

This role has line management of 1xEO performance support.
