Our Story of Gardening Team Leader We're looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader to take charge of the daily operations at the Story of Gardening, which includes an interactive exhibition and cafe. In this role, you'll help manage stock control and waste, lead and coach your team to provide top-notch hospitality, maintain outstanding service levels, and support your manager to keep everything running smoothly. Plus, you'll work closely with our Health and Safety team to ensure a safe environment for everyone. If you have previous F&B experience, care for your team and love hospitality, this could be the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the management team to ensure your department runs in the most productive, creative and efficient way.
  • Ensure the guest has the best possible experience, monitoring and managing guest expectations and making improvements where necessary.
  • Assist in stock controls, cost and waste management.
  • Ensuring all departmental procedures are adhered to. Ensure all statutory health and safety is met, up to date and constantly reviewed.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with different departments and people, working effectively and maintaining a holistic overview across all areas.
  • Monitor & maintain food standards, make suggestions based on current trends & guest feedback.
  • Nurture & develop yourself and the team. Team productivity, performance and presentation are key.
  • Follow systems to manage your team and overall presentation of your department to ensure high standards are upheld.
  • Maintain company representation, ensuring you and your team always look impeccable, you are the ambassador for the newt way.
  • Ensure The Newt's style of service and ethos is always upheld.

What we're looking for
  • Confident yet approachable with a passion for leadership
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Food & Beverage role
  • A passion for service, efficiency & fast pace
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Willingness to develop and grow with the business.
  • Museum experience or interest is beneficial
Where you'll be working - The Story of Gardening Offering our guests a way to interact with and understanding the history of gardens across the world, the Story of Gardening (or SOG as it is affectionally named) is a beautiful exhibition with each room set up as if it were a garden. These rooms are also the inspiration for our food offerings in the adjacent cafe.
