The Newt in Somerset is a country estate with ancient woodland, historic gardens and far-reaching views; a new and unique destination with luxury hotel, spa, restaurants and an abundance of homegrown produce. Visitors can take a tour of the gardens, deer park and cyder press, dine in the Garden Café or browse our farm shops. Attracting some 200,000 visitors per year from all over the world, our vibrant and thriving garden attraction is animated throughout the seasons by special events, workshops and educational programmes.

**Our Team**

Food & Beverage is at the heart of the Hotel and Estate and encompasses a multitude of venues including the Garden Café, Cyder Bar, Gelateria & Story of Gardening, and Roman Villa.

Our Gelateria is one of our most popular venues selling estate made gelatos, sorbets and sweet treats to excite and delight all ages. Seasonal specials supplement the core gelato selection from waffles in winter to sundaes in summer.

**Our Team Leader**

The Team Leader of the gelateria will have an obsession for gelato and sorbet, with an infectious desire to provide amazing service. You will be confident, self-motivated, lead from the front and be passionate about hospitality. Prime focus will be on the guest experience throughout and how you and the team deliver and uphold exceptional service levels. You will be responsible for the standard of service ensuring that the team who will support you from our Cyder Bar are delivering exceptional guest experience at all times. The position of Team Leader is diverse; flexibility, a ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to think on your feet are key for success.

**Key **Responsibilities**
- Work alongside the management team to ensure the Gelato runs in the most productive and efficient way.
- Ensure the guest has the best possible experience, monitoring and managing guest expectations and make improvements where necessary.
- Nurture & develop yourself and the team. Team productivity, performance and presentation are key.
- Follow systems to manage your team and overall presentation of your department to ensure high standards are upheld.
- Maintain company representation, ensuring you and your team always look impeccable, you are the ambassador for the newt way.
- Ensure The Newt’s style of service and ethos is always upheld
