The Newt in Somerset is a new and unique destination already attracting a recognition at the highest level. Our 300-year-old estate complete with woodland, lush gardens and breath-taking views welcomes guests from all over the world. Our hotel is a home from home where our team deliver outstanding service in informal surroundings. Gardens, orchards, and treetop walkways inspire whilst roaring fires and our wellbeing spa offer tranquility. Food is a passion across the estate, whether hotel or our restaurants or farm shop. Much is sourced from the estate and trusted local suppliers.

**Department Description**

**Position Summary**

You will be responsible for supervising the housekeeping team. This means ensuring faultless standards of cleanliness and appearance are achieved throughout the Estate. You will be working with a close-knit team, so being a team player is essential. Our housekeeping team leaders must have a passion for cleanliness and work towards the best experience for all our guests.

Our individually designed rooms require a lot of care and attention to ensure that every guest feels that they are first to have ever stayed in their room. We are looking for people who are perfectionists, with exceptional attention to detail and a high level of productivity. We expect all our guests to enjoy a relaxing and friendly visit so all our staff must be friendly and confident when speaking without guests.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Inspecting Rooms and Common Areas for Cleanliness
- Assigning Guest Rooms and Common Areas to Housekeeping Staff
- Offering training and refresher training to Housekeeping Staff
- Providing regular reports to the housekeeping manager
- Supporting/ covering with sickness

**Skills and Experience**
- Experience with supervising and leading teams
- Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and products
- Good physical health and stamina
- Flexibility to work in shifts and weekends.
- Ability to work with no supervision while meeting high-performance standards
- Excellent organisation skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Attention to detail
- Must be a driver
