About the role

FTI Restructuring & Insolvency offers an unrivalled opportunity to work alongside accomplished professionals, delivering the most complex financial restructuring and insolvency solutions to various stakeholder groups. We’ve worked globally on some of the most high-profile restructurings and insolvency cases. Recent cases include James Fisher Nuclear, Revolution Bars, Gieves & Hawkes, LumiraDx Group, Yunlin, Aggregate Holdings, Prezzo, The Collective, Polarcus, Noble Group, DeepOcean, and Adler.

We work with major international financial institutions, private equity houses, global law firms, and corporates, on cases encompassing an extensive range of industries. We work closely with clients to quickly ascertain key issues and implement viable and sustainable restructuring solutions and exit strategies.

As part of our Restructuring & Insolvency team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of fast-paced international restructuring and insolvency assignments.  You’ll be part of our award-winning team of experts in a supportive and high-achieving environment.

What you will do 

Our graduates focus on corporate insolvency to establish expertise across the complete insolvency process, from both company and lender perspectives. From contingency planning and stakeholder management to creditor distributions and case progression, you’ll develop the experience, knowledge and proficiency required to launch your career in Restructuring and Insolvency.

We will support you in studying for your ACA, with alternating periods of focused study and work. We give you the flexibility to study in a way that suits you.

Day-to-day tasks will vary by project, but you can expect to undertake:

  • Supporting senior team managers in asset realisations and ongoing trading in insolvency
  • Supporting senior team members to keep businesses trading in insolvencies, including budgeting, cash management, purchasing, managing and negotiating with key suppliers, and sales
  • Supporting the senior team to market businesses for sale, seeking buyers for businesses, or divisions of businesses, in order to secure their long-term future and preserve jobs
  • Valuing and realising key assets for maximum value
  • Developing and implementing strategies for employees
  • Communication with senior management and board directors
  • Accounting, cashiering and financial reporting responsibilities for insolvency cases
  • Communication with various stakeholders, including creditors, directors and employees
  • Case progression, including preparation of statutory documents, reports and maintaining files
  • Market and company analysis to identify restructuring advisory opportunities and contribute to pitches, stakeholder presentations industry thought pieces

As you build experience, you’ll have the opportunity to take on financial statement, cashflow, and outcome modelling, and support the team in producing contingency planning and financial advisory reports.

How you will grow

At FTI, you’ll be working on headline-hitting cases, while we support you to become a Chartered Accountant (ACA). As you progress through the qualification, you’ll have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibilities, with structured support and on-the-job training to reach your full potential.
