About the Organisation

 

Our client is a charity supporting the needs of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans.

 

Their project seeks to address the issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans armed forces communities, many of whom have found mainstream military charities less accessible to them.

 

They are now looking for a Wellbeing Co-ordinator to lead on the delivery of this exciting project on a permanent, part-time basis, working 22.2 hours per week.

The Role

 

As a Wellbeing Co-ordinator, you will lead the development and delivery of our client’s project to support lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans armed forces communities.

 

You’ll ensure that lived experience remains at the heart of the project, overseeing the steering group and working with individuals to validate lived experience and empower lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans armed forces staff, veterans and families. You will ensure they are enabled to gain the confidence to have their voices heard.

 

Working with internal services and national organisations, you’ll develop referral pathways to ongoing mental health and wellbeing support and help to identify support needs. You will also build connections with other providers and networks to bring communities together and increase the reach of the programme.

 

Additionally, you will:

 

- Lead, develop and deliver an implementation and development plan

- Plan events for key dates

- Oversee budget management and reporting

- Support the development of a marketing strategy for the project

- Ensure appropriate safeguarding measures are implemented

 

About You

 

To be considered as a Wellbeing Co-ordinator, you will need:

 

- Experience of managing budgets

- Experience of providing support and working in a busy service

- Experience of writing reports for funders and commissioners

- Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality

- The ability to design and deliver online and in-person events

- Excellent communication skills

- Great organisational, planning and time management skills

- Knowledge of the issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans armed forces personnel, veterans and their families
