Tullow Oil has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Insurance & Risk Advisor. This role reports to the Head of Group Insurance, where you will be responsible for managing specific insurance programmes from risk exposure analysis and procurement. Day to day operational & project queries on a per country basis. You will be the key contact for contractual queries from a risk and insurance perspective and lead on specific claims and project risks CAR.


This is a permanent role based in Chiswick, London with hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities/Key Objectives


Responsibilities include:

Insurance Procurement

▪ Responsible for managing the following insurance programmes: FPSO Hull and Machinery &P&I, Decommissioning and other ad hoc projects CAR. Role includes market strategy, underwriting data collection, presentation to the market, arrangement of cover and finalising documentation and invoicing. Will include where necessary broker tender's, CSA's and local market compliance.


Contract Advice and negotiation

▪ Responsible for Contract queries originating from the business with the key objective of reviewing against Tullow Standards, negotiate qualifications against Tullow's standards ensuring optimum risk position is achieved, all contracts associated with allocated Construction Projects

▪ Work with legal on JOA's PSC's Farm in and farm out agreements and relevant SPA's on allocated assets and or territories as applicable.

▪ responsibility for all marine & aviation contracts with a focus as the insurance subject matter expert



Claims Management – Corporate and Business Unit Specific

▪ Responsible for driving the implementation of a cohesive corporate claims process involving relevant internal departments.

▪ Responsible for managing existing and new claims as allocated. Aim to manage all claims to a successful outcome.

▪ Consider specific loss scenarios associated to the allocated territories, design and run relevant loss scenario workshops


Communication

▪ Develop and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders demonstrating Tullow values

▪ Communicate effectively with the business ensuring service is provided to enable the Bu’s to conduct their business

Risk Management & Risk Engineering

▪ Required to get involved in Ad hoc projects to support the insurance function or business as they arise e.g., political risks, cyber risks.

▪ Attendance at risk management and insurance events to broaden knowledge and remain abreast of developments


Skills


Experience in Global Upstream Energy insurance either in house, broking or underwriting.

Excellent understanding of the standard contracting principles both offshore and onshore, with specific focus but not limited to on marine, aviation, EPIC, Rig, well services, and engineering with emphasis on insurance and indemnity provisions.

Proven experience of operational and CAR programmes, a knowledge of downstream EAR would be beneficial but not necessary

Experience and knowledge of claims process in the energy market

A good overview of local content/insurance legislation in overseas territories

Knowledge of onshore terrorism and political risk would be beneficial but not necessary


Education

University educated to at least Bachelor’s degree level

Tertiary/Professional Qualification
