Head of IT Governance

Reporting to the Director IT Strategy, Data & Architecture, the Head of IT Governance is responsible for the oversight and reporting of BSI’s approach to the use of Information systems and digital services, and associated technology as well as the overall organisational and functions’ corporate governance requirements.

The role will manage the day-to-day IT performance governance and reporting for the CIO on the Technology, Digital Build, as well as ensuring close alignment with Finance business partner for the financial planning and strategic planning processes. This includes:

- IT Annual / Strategy Plan process, co-ordination of inputs and related activities across IT and ensuring quality inputs into the overall financial annual planning process
- IT management reporting (such as monthly report and quarterly reviews), co-ordination and reporting of overall IT performance to the IT leadership team along with the required BSI monthly reporting in line with BSI reporting and compliance requirements (incl. IT risks and compliance registers)
- Responsible for the determination and evaluation of current and future IT governance needs (incl. reporting and performance e.g. sustainability reporting)
- Lead the development and management of IT governance framework, IT planning for IT services and related governance process in line with BSI financial planning process
- Lead and manage the IT governance and reporting team
- Responsible for defining the IT vendor management capability and framework, ensuring the monitoring and reporting of IT vendors performance considering suppliers’ criticality

To be successful in the role, you have:

- Been a competent practitioner of ITIL and COBIT governance frameworks
- The in-depth knowledge of IT governance landscape including best practice, industry standards, products, services, trends and opportunities, with extensive experience of governance across both business and technology domains
- Reporting ability to deliver data on IT performance, supplier performance and regular function and business review reports
- Extensive practical involvement in all stages of the system development life cycle, from feasibility to support and in all stages of the service management lifecycle
- Practical experience in defining and implementing solutions where there is a resistance to change in a low maturity technical organisation
- Experience in initiates influential relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and partners at senior management level, including industry leaders
