We are currently partnering with a highly regarded Legal 500 law firm based in South Manchester, which is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Commercial Property

Associate or Partner to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious commercial property lawyer to join a firm with a prestigious reputation for providing top-tier legal services.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Commercial Property Associate or Partner, you will play a pivotal role in the firm's Commercial Property team, advising clients on a broad spectrum of matters, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, developments, and corporate real estate transactions. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, providing strategic advice to clients, and playing a key part in the firm's ongoing growth. This position also involves the mentorship and development of junior colleagues, ensuring the team continues to deliver excellent results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse caseload of complex commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, lease agreements, and development work.
  • Advise clients on a range of commercial property issues, including planning, environmental, and construction law.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with existing clients, acting as their trusted legal advisor.
  • Lead negotiations on behalf of clients, ensuring transactions are completed efficiently and successfully.
  • Mentor and support junior lawyers and other team members, contributing to their professional development.
  • Play a key role in business development activities, including pitching for new clients and representing the firm at networking events.
  • Stay up to date with the latest commercial property legal developments, ensuring the firm's practice remains at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the department, working closely with partners and senior management.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with significant experience in commercial property law, ideally with exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters.
  • Proven track record of handling high-value and complex commercial property transactions, demonstrating commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
  • Previous experience of supervising and mentoring junior team members is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge and the ability to provide practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
  • A proactive, business development mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive the department forward.
  • Experience working in a Legal 500 or equivalent environment is an advantage.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Hybrid working experience or openness to a flexible working model.
