We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated EHS&Q Compliance Manager to join our dynamic team at Delkia.


Overview of the role

As an EHS&Q (Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality) Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of the company's compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality regulations and standards. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure adherence to relevant laws, policies, and industry best practices. The EHS&Q Compliance Manager will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating risks associated with non-compliance, promoting a culture of safety and quality, and maintaining a positive working environment.


Key responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated on local, state, national, and international EHS&Q regulations relevant to the industry.
  • Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to ensure the organisation's compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address changes in regulations and standards.


Policy Development:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and update company policies related to EHS&Q compliance.
  • Ensure that policies align with current regulations and industry standards.


Training and Education:

  • Design and deliver EHS&Q training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Ensure that employees are aware of and understand compliance requirements.


Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and improve overall compliance.


Auditing and Monitoring:

  • Establish and execute a robust auditing program to monitor compliance across various departments and locations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure thorough assessments.


Incident Investigation:

  • Lead investigations into EHS&Q incidents, accidents, or non-compliance issues.
  • Develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.


Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies, as required.
  • Generate internal reports on compliance metrics and performance.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS&Q processes.
  • Implement best practices to enhance overall compliance and safety culture.


Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field is typically required. Specialisations relevant to the company's services are preferred.
  • Master’s Degree: A master’s degree in Health and Safety or a specialised engineering discipline is desirable but not essential.


Professional Certifications

  • NEBOSH National Diploma: A widely recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, important for understanding UK specific health and safety standards.
  • IOSH Membership: Being a member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, preferably at a Chartered level, indicates a high level of professionalism and commitment to safety practices.


Experience

  • Relevant industry experience: Extensive experience in EHS and quality roles within the engineering and technology sector, showcasing a successful track record of implementing EHS and quality management systems.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading EHS and quality initiatives, managing teams, and driving continuous improvement.


Skills and Knowledge

  • EHS & Quality Management Systems: In-depth knowledge of EHS and quality management principles, practices, and standards, such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Legislative knowledge: A thorough understanding of UK and EU environmental, health, and safety legislation and regulations, and quality standards relevant to the engineering and technology services sector.
  • Risk assessment and Management: Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, hazard identification, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Environmental impact assessment: Skills in assessing and managing the environmental impact of engineering projects and operations.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyse data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions for EHS and quality-related challenges.
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively convey EHS and quality policies, conduct training, and liaise with regulatory authorities.
  • Project management skills: Competence in managing projects, including planning, executing, monitoring, and closing EHS and quality-related projects.
