ShortList has an opportunity for an experienced Application Support Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact. About the Role:

As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining critical applications across the organisation. With numerous ongoing projects and significant change on the horizon, this position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, complex environment where your skills will be both challenged and honed. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical support, troubleshooting, and ensuring the seamless operation of various software applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level application support for a variety of software systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, working closely with development teams to identify and fix defects.
  • Manage and prioritise incidents and service requests, maintaining a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in ongoing projects, contributing to software upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Utilise Software Development and Defect Management Systems, such as Jira or Azure DevOps, to track and manage development tasks.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Good understanding of development languages, such as Java, .Net, C#.
  • Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for working in the non-profit sector and contributing to meaningful social change.

This role is based in Liverpool and offers hybrid working with 2 days per week based in the Liverpool office, easily commutable from Warrington, Runcorn, Wirral and Chester. The salary on offer is £45,000 + great benefits.
