Purpose of the role


To devise and deliver a successful events programme in support of client activities in an efficient and effective manner. Some of the events will be overseas based as well as in the UK.


Key responsibilities

  • Working within a department of marketing and communications colleagues, devise and deliver a programme of annual events, meetings, seminars, webinars, conferences, and provide 'at event' support and guidance as required.
  • Project manage the practical details appropriate to each type of event. For example, location identification and selection of venue, exhibition theme and design, negotiation with supporting suppliers and vendors, set-up and manage register of invitees, speakers and the budgetary control, reporting and monitoring in a coherent and reportable format.
  • Ensure and take responsibility to ensure events are well managed, planned, and communicated with internal and external stakeholders, efficiently and successfully executed to schedule, and on budget.
  • Developing creative ideas for the promotion of events and identifying sponsorship opportunities where appropriate.
  • Prepare and deliver debriefs against all key aspects such as budget, attendee satisfaction, vendor satisfaction etc.
  • Manage an 18 month event calendar liaising with staff based around the world to attend strategically important industry events.


Person Specification

  • Essential to be highly experienced in the events management industry with demonstrable track record of successfully organising and running international business events, including seminars, webinars, conference exhibitions, trade shows, social events etc, to schedule and within budget.
  • Proven experience in successfully finding, organising, and working with conference centres, design companies, and production companies internationally.
  • Experienced in working with in-house departments and external agencies to deliver successful outcomes for all concerned.
  • Possess a relevant degree and/or a portfolio of successful events managed
