Engagement Specialist 

We are seeking an agile and detail-driven Engagement (events) Specialist to join us on a fixed-term-contract for 9 months. You will support our growing ambition for Munich Re’s Primary Specialty business units, with the strategic objective driving engagement vents which deepen client engagement and employee relationships to achieve business goals.


As an individual contributor, you will take direction from the Head of Marketing & Communication UK to prioritize strategic deliverables to support and achieve business goals. In addition, you will align with the Head of Strategy Topics and Events in Global Communications in Munich, to leverage Group best practices, tools, and formats on region-specific work. You will closely with Marketing, Internal Communications and Media peers within the Marketing Communications function to leverage opportunities and maximise impact.


Responsibilities 

Manages an event from beginning to end, ensuring tactical plans and creative execution are carried out effectively for the event and fall within predefined budget and production schedule. Coordinates and arranges necessary resources for in-person and/or online events to run seamlessly (e.g., physical event set up, catering, online/embedded content).  Works closely with third party vendors. Creates detailed timelines and communicates needs to supplier teams, following input from Marketing Communication team colleagues. Holds vendors accountable for delivering on agreed upon outcomes. Partners with key stakeholders across the marketing organisation and production team to keep events running efficiently, optimizing as best as possible from an operations perspective.  Holds accountability for managing the annual event budget end-to-end using appropriate tools and resources.  Implements an event brief and executes stakeholders' vision for an existing event in partnership with Marketing Communication team colleagues. Works closely with team members, shared services (media production pool) and agencies to realise the event's design and objectives.  Verifies an event's brief serves overarching objectives and target audience. Aligns event or experience design and execution to One Voice vision and values. Maintains a strong focus on accessibility and inclusion when executing an event or experience.  Begins to build relationships with key stakeholders. Initiates communication with core internal and cross-geography marketing teams.  Ensures events adhere to branding, develops required content, meets regulatory compliance requirements, and times standards in order to create a consistent ‘One Voice’ experience for our strategic market conferences and exhibitions. Implements strategies from Marketing Communication team colleagues to connect events and experience programs to a targeted audience and core objectives.  Partners with stakeholders to identify and create event metrics, considering how to measure success based on a particular event's objectives. Continually connects with Marketing Communications team colleagues to refine metrics. 


Knowledge and Skills 

Advanced event and communications experience, preferable with in financial services.  Creative, passionate, energetic and a bias towards action.  Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on-time.  Ability to lead cross-functional project and project teams.  Excellent communications, executive relationship management and project management skills.  Solid experience in agency management, Problem Solving, organizational and time management skills.  Stamina, a commitment to high quality work that can be delivered under pressure and strong attention to detail. Confidence to navigate ambiguity and collaborate across all hierarchical levels in a global matrix environment and work under evolving deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively to corporate leaders, middle management, and partners and lead (influence) discussions to develop project objectives.  Other technical skills include: Content writing/proof reading, Creativity, Data Analysis, Event Management, Microsoft Product Knowledge, Presentations.
