Job overview

The Divisional Medical Director (DMD) will, as a member of the Divisional Senior Management Team, plan an active role in contributing to the strategic direction of the Division and the ongoing provision of high-quality services which are safe and efficient. As a senior medical leader within the Division the DMD will work closely with the Divisional and Clinical Directors and contribute to the overall vision, direction, and performance of the Division with respect to the medical staff and their role in service delivery. The DMD will work with Clinical Directors to ensure a safe and capable medical workforce operates within each Clinical Directorate and provides the Divisional Director with defined information for assurance purposes. 

Main duties of the job

Co-ordination of medical appraisals

Implementation of HR Policies for Medical Staff 

Education and Training 
 
Clinical Governance Responsibilities 
 
The DMD will work closely with the Divisional Director of Nursing (Lucy Parsons) and be responsible for having systems and processes in place to review and manage remedial action emerging from incidents, complaints, risk identification and assessment, litigation, audit, and clinical indicators.
