The Role

As a Building Services Technician, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of FM maintenance services, primarily in relation to building fabric services, but also supporting other planned, responsive, and demand requirements.

Day-to-day, you will deliver specialist building fabric and systems support and identify, maintain, and ensure all key assets are available. You’ll recommend improvements and additional requirements to facilities management and business leads where required.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing maintenance support, including installations; planned, preventive, reactive, and corrective maintenance in relation to site services, plant equipment and buildings  Maintaining knowledge and awareness of building and energy standards  Prioritisation of the work programme to satisfy business needs  Ensure robust application of health, safety and environmental procedures and processes  Ensure maintenance standards and quality of work delivered are to the required level  Oversee the conduct of contractors on site; monitoring the implementation and performance of tasks allocated

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week and based at our MoD BUTEC site in Kyle of Lochalsh. You will also be required to travel to our site in Applecross to support as and when required.

Essential experience of the Building Services Technician:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills  Ability to thrive as part of a team and work independently where appropriate  Ability to safely deploy equipment/processes  Manual Handling awareness and risk appreciation

Qualifications of the Building Services Technician:

Full & clean (UK) valid driving licence
