The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Head of Music to lead and develop our thriving Music Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or current department leader who is committed to inspiring students through music education and fostering a culture of creativity and engagement.

As Head of Music, you will:

  • Lead and manage the Music Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and deliver an engaging, inclusive music curriculum across all key stages.
  • Inspire and motivate students to participate in musical activities, both within and beyond the classroom.
  • Organize and oversee school performances, concerts, and extracurricular music programs.
  • Support the professional development of staff within the department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the wider cultural life of the school.

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in music education.
  • Proven experience in teaching music across a range of key stages.
  • Leadership experience or the potential to lead a team effectively.
  • A passion for music and a track record of engaging and inspiring students.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage departmental responsibilities.
