Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Lecturer/Senior Academic to join our team at the Elizabeth School of London. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our academic programmes in Computing.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and assessing students, developing and delivering curriculum, and contributing to the academic and professional environment. As a Senior Lecturer, you will provide leadership and guidance to colleagues, collaborate with the Head of Academics or the Dean, and drive initiatives for curriculum development and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and assess students in Computing programmes
  • Develop and deliver curriculum, including programme development and oversight
  • Contribute to academic and professional environment, including research and professional development
  • Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues
  • Collaborate with the Head of Academics or the Dean on initiatives for curriculum development and improvement

Requirements

  • Advanced qualifications and recognition, including a doctoral qualification in a relevant subject area
  • 4 years' experience in teaching at HE level in the UK
  • Master's degree in a relevant subject area
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses at the Higher Education level
  • Proficiency in utilising Blackboard/VLEs, MS Teams, and Zoom
  • Native speaker of English or, if not, have current IELTS 7.5 Academic Certification
  • Demonstrable ability to prepare and oversee implementation of programme development plans and assess colleagues' work

Desirable

  • Possess a teaching qualification such as FHEA or PGCHE, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
  • A highly developed understanding of the demands of maintaining good cross-cultural, interpersonal, and relationships
  • High-level communication and presentation skills
