We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced B7 Nurse to join the Hampshire CAMHS Eating Disorder Service. Our service provides a stepped care model tailored to meet the needs of young people with diagnosed eating disorders. We offer a range of evidence-based treatments embedded in quality and innovation. With opportunities to develop skills working with MDT colleagues, in addition to CPD, training, consultation, supervision and nursing forums.

We are looking for a nurse who is passionate about clinical leadership, has a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. We want our staff to thrive working with this complex patient group and their families, in the knowledge they are supported by compassionate and supportive colleagues.

As a senior nurse within the service, you will work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care in the West hub. The post holder will be required to manage their own case load alongside offering expert clinical advice to colleagues and support the leadership team. The role requires a high level of skill in clinical assessment, risk management, safeguarding and liaison with other agencies. This post provides a mix of both clinical and leadership tasks providing a diverse and varied role, both face to face and virtual delivery.

Main duties of the job

Main duties and tasks

Ensure the daily running of the clinical hub, including allocation of cases.

Hold and manage a clinical case load, ensuring appropriate care planning, risk assessment and management.

Provide line management and clinical supervision as required.

Complete routine and initial assessments as required.

Liaise and link with colleagues across the team, service, and wider agencies as appropriate to support a young person's safe care.

Support the lead nurse in the implementation and development of the nursing strategy across the team and service.

To confidently assess and manage physical health risk in relation to eating disorders.

Contribute to quality improvement projects across the team and the ongoing drive to improve the service delivered.

The post holder will be required to take on other identified responsibilities suitable for the banding.

Experience in systemic working, crisis interventions and physical assessment will be an advantage.

The final combination of Southern Health and Solent NHS Trust services is expected in late 2024, when our new organisation, to be known as Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, will be formed.

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role. Degree/diploma level supplemented by specialist qualification, training, experience, courses to master's level equivalent relevant to the care group Evidence of post registration training in relevant service area Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent

Experience

Essential

Extensive post qualifying experience in relevant service area Experience of supervising staff and students Able to manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health needs. Comprehensive knowledge of interventions specific to service area

Lived experience of mental health issues
