To provide creative social & emotional mental health support, to children & young people aged 8 -19 years old. Many of the children we support are from marginalised backgrounds, adverse experiences, children living in care or children struggling to regulate their emotions. As part of a 24-week SEMH programme, we cover aspirations, personal development and citizenship to support young people to remain in education, promote positive and healthy choices and reduce risks associated with anti-social behaviour social isolation and family breakdown. The core purpose of this role is to help children & young people to form healthier connections across the elements of well-being, Physical health, Mental health, Social & communicational skills and Environmental awareness.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES/GENERAL EXPECTATIONS OF THE ROLE:

RESPONSIBLE TO: Managing director
SALARY: £120.00 per day
SUPERVISED BY: External qualified counsellor
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A recognised qualification in Youth Work or an equivalent level 3+ qualification in Advice & Guidance or a minimum of 3 years experience working with disengaged young people facilitating youth work, mentoring, advice or guidance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills.
- Experience in the delivery of youth initiatives focussing on good relations, citizenship and personal development.
- Experience of working with the community & voluntary sector.
- Individual commitment to addressing the needs of the most socially excluded young people and those not in education, training or employment.
- Current, clean, driving licence with access to own vehicle
- You are 21 years of age or over
- Proven track record in supporting children & young people to become more optimistic about their lives.
- Experience of using evaluation tools/outcome measures to monitor the impact of youth work.
- Experience of using Microsoft Word, Dropbox and Zoom.
Monthly supervision with a qualified counsellor Monthly case tracking with direct report to discuss your cases
All the relevant training, some online, some face to face £0.45p per mile after your first 10 miles from home £5.00 lunch allowance for a full day's work You will be provided with all the resources you need for sessions Your own Hoody/T-shirt and Lanyard £300.00 bonus scheme if a service decides to continue with us
