DescriptionAs a Payroll Assistant, you will join our growing Finance team to play an important role in the accuracy of payroll processing for our team members and to support the team through a busy period of growth. You will assist with various payroll-related tasks, including pension administration, and compliance with the relevant regulations. You will play a key role in integrating payroll across integrating businesses and ensuring that compliance is met with gender pay gap reporting requirements.  This is a great opportunity to learn from a fast-paced and dynamic team and develop your skills and experience further. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately calculate and process payments, amendments, adjustments, deductions, holiday pay, and statutory payments for both our UK and international employees, whilst adhering to regulations. 
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration, including processing new starters, leavers, payrolling benefits, P11Ds, Statutory leave and pay including SSP, SMP and SPP.
  • Compile standard reports and ad-hoc reports for management as needed, providing insights into payroll data, including Gender Pay Gap reporting.
  • Assist in pension administration, ensuring compliance with pension scheme regulations is met and regularly communicating with pension providers to resolve issues/discrepancies.
  • Support the payroll manager in the execution of year-end routines, including the distribution of P60s and P11Ds to employees.
  • Keep up to date with UK and international payroll regulations, implementing changes as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Approved certification or working towards such an award would be desirable for this role (such as CIPP) but not essential.
  • Considerable experience in a payroll role, with a strong understanding of payroll processes and legislation. Must have experience in end-to-end payroll (Essential).
  • A detailed understanding of payroll regulations, tax, and PAYE.
  • Experience with pension administration and auto-enrolment processes. 
  • Experience in multi-country payroll processing (desirable).
  • Ability to analyse payroll data for gender pay gap reporting and financial reporting.
