As an Estate Officer at Longhurst Group, you will be responsible for ensuring our outdoor and communal spaces are maintained to the highest standard, contributing to a positive environment for customers, employees, contractors, and visitors. Further key responsibilities are listed below:
- Undertake inspections of internal and external areas of our estates to check their condition and quality, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Maintain records of all ground maintenance and cleaning tasks, inspections, and results, and subsequently prepare reports outlining inspection findings, any issues identified, and proposals.
- Develop and implement strategies to integrate sustainable practices into grounds maintenance and cleaning activities, aiming to minimise the environmental footprint.
- Forecast, monitor, and report on budgets, alongside identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Undertake contract management and administration, ultimately holding our 3rd party contractors to account where necessary.
- Develop and implement strategies to integrate sustainable practices into grounds maintenance and cleaning activities, aiming to minimise the environmental footprint.
In order to be successful in application for our Estates Officer role, you’ll need a background across estates management, ideally grounds maintenance. It’s crucial to be analytical with a keen observational eye, to spot any risks or improvements.
Our Estates Officer role operates in a hybrid capacity, contracted to 36.25 hours per week. To us, this means spending time with our customers across our East region (East of England, Lincolnshire) with some time working from home (subject to business needs - we are open to discussion around how this is built into working weeks). A large portion of our Environment & Sustainability team are also work in a hybrid nature, meeting in the Peterborough office fortnightly for collaboration.
