The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Schools SIMS Administrator to join the administrative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate pupil records and providing general administrative support.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing a welcoming and accurate information service to visitors, staff, and pupils
* Answering telephones professionally, taking messages, and ensuring timely delivery
* Greeting and attending to visitors, offering appropriate hospitality
* Maintaining accurate records of messages and forwarding them promptly
* Providing general administrative support, including the use of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office programs
* Establishing and maintaining good relationships with staff to ensure confidential and professional administrative support
* Complying with relevant policies and procedures, including child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection
* Updating and managing pupil records through the SIMS system, ensuring accuracy and currency of information
* Effectively managing and prioritising your own workload
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
* Providing medical and welfare support services to ensure the smooth operation of the school
* Acting as the primary First Aider, administering first aid and managing medical emergencies
* Administering medicines and medications to pupils in accordance with school procedures
* Attending to the personal health and welfare needs of pupils, including those with special requirements
* Assisting pupils in using specialised aids or meeting health and safety requirements
* Liaising with the school nurse, health professionals, and medical services to coordinate routine medical screenings
* Recording accidents, incidents, and illnesses in the SIMS system and preparing reports when necessary
* Managing the medical room, maintaining accurate records such as medication charts and first aid logs
* Overseeing the inventory and maintenance of first aid supplies
* Assisting with the changing and cleaning of soiled clothing and alerting the site team for thorough cleaning when necessary
* Attending school trips to provide on-site medical and welfare support
* Overseeing attendance processes, ensuring accurate records and timely follow-up on absenteeism
* Collaborating with the Headteacher, parents, and school staff to identify and resolve attendance issues
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar administrative role
* Proficiency in using SIMS and other administrative software
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
