About the role and school

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with challenging behavioural issues and Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and relaxed Teaching Assistant to join a well-recognised secondary school in Liverpool. This school is considered outstanding and accommodates both SEN students and those with challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate would have to be committed to supporting students who are challenging, yet helping them behave better in order to reach their full potential both inside and outside of the classroom.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN and challenging behaviour.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning plans and strategies in order to benefit the students.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to the teaching team on certain individuals.
  • Build relationships with students to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment and help with their academic, social and emotional development.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS cleared & uploaded to the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Full right to work within the UK.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs and those with behavioural issues is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification that links to the role (SEN training) is preferred but not essential.
  • Patience, empathy and a proactive approach to supporting those with SEN and challenging behaviour.
