Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £85 - £93 per day, based on experience

Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary/Permanent

About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners who require additional support to thrive in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students with SEN, including those with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Support students in their learning both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student engagement and independence.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Help with personal care needs where necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  • Participate in school activities, trips, and extracurricular programs as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEN in an educational setting.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of various SEN conditions and strategies to support learning and development.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate, or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS check registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
