Position Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs. This role involves working closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, assisting with individualized education plans (IEPs), and providing personalized support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of IEPs and support the academic and personal development of students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including preparing materials and organizing resources.
  • Support students during breaks, extracurricular activities, and transitions between classes.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is preferred.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
