Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time in Chorlton-cum-Hardy

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant for an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy. This full-time position starts in October and runs until the end of the academic year, with the opportunity for the role to become permanent based on performance.

Role Overview:

  • Provide tailored academic and emotional support to students, especially those with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.
  • Assist in delivering small group interventions aimed at promoting mental well-being, emotional resilience, and improving behavior management strategies.
  • Work alongside the school's SEN and pastoral teams to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Offer one-on-one support to students with additional learning needs, helping them with classwork, homework, and personal development.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SEN staff to adjust learning plans and interventions where necessary.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive learning environment, fostering student engagement, and promoting good behavior in line with the school’s ethos.

This role is ideal for psychology graduates looking to apply their understanding of mental health and behavior in an educational setting while gaining hands-on experience to support future career aspirations in educational psychology, counseling, or teaching.

Key Details:

  • Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week, depending on experience.
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday.
  • Start date: October, continuing until the end of the academic year, with the chance of a permanent position depending on performance.
