Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Nursery Nurse to join our team on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We are a regional level 3 intensive care unit with 42 cots, caring for the smallest and sickest babies across East Anglia. In conjunction with a qualified nurse/midwife and the Senior Neonatal Nursery Nurse the post holder will undertake assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care for neonates and their families.

Job responsibilities
Maintain a high standard of holistic family-centred care. Assess, develop, implement and evaluate care of the neonate in conjunction with qualified nursing staff. Support mothers with their infant feeding choices as per Trust Policies and the Breast Feeding Initiative. Assist as appropriate in clinical procedures under the supervision of qualified staff. Liaise with the Family Care Team and Neonatal Outreach Team to support families, promote parent education and discharge planning. Maintain accurate records of all care given. Communicate effectively with parents, relatives, carers, significant others, the multi-disciplinary team and support services. Ability to recognise a sick infant and initiate appropriate resuscitation. To effectively use information technology for the benefit of patient care in accordance with the Trusts Cyber Code of Conduct. To maintain confidentiality of information (written, verbal, electronic), whilst being aware of the Freedom for Information Act.Please refer to the Job Description for the full specification of responsibilities and requirements for this post.
