About the roleAs a Crisis Recovery Worker, you will be required to provide a high-quality, recovery-focused service to individuals who have a range of mental health and autistic traits as well as other support needs including learning disabilities, physical health issues and substance misuse, whilst promoting independence and social inclusion. With the proven ability to identify barriers, understand needs and support people to achieve their goals the role will include one-to-one engagement, facilitating activities within the service and community, administrative tasks, signposting and engaging people in other provision. You will work alongside Peer Support Workers (PSW) and Crisis Support Workers (CRW) to achieve the best person-centred care with the patient for their recovery, whether that be joint working with other services to support them to make reasonable adjustments or PSW so patients can learn and practice skills.
  • You will be part of a small team supporting people in a crisis drop-in centre.
  • We are a non-clinical service, providing support to reduce immediate distress to those at risk of self-harm, suicide or experiencing trauma.
About you Due to the nature of this role, it requires someone flexible and able to be contacted at short notice to support any of the three crisis services. You will have experience working with Mental Health and will be able to inspire and engage people and have the ability to identify barriers and understand individual needs while possessing excellent motivational skills. This will include one-to-one engagement and facilitating group-based activities, signposting and engaging people in mainstream provision. You will have an understanding of working with people with a variety of complex needs including mental health, learning, and physical and substance misuse would be an advantage for this post. Your knowledge of working within a community-based service is essential and will equip you with the relevant communication and interpersonal skills required for the role.
  • It is essential that you hold a Health and Social Care level 2 or level 3 and be willing to develop further as the role requires.
  • It is necessary to have a driving license.
