Summary

Are you committed to creating landscapes better for nature, climate and people? We’re looking for an innovative Tenant Engagement Manager to support our exciting ambition for nature’s recovery across 18,000 hectares of land we care for in the iconic Peak District.

We’re looking for someone to help us build and develop strong relationships with some of our most important partners, our tenant farmers. A significant part of your role will be to support our relationships with the tenant farmers who are part of the High Peak Nature Recovery project.

This role is fixed term for 3 years. Please submit a cover letter alongside your CV.

What it's like to work here

Your contractual place of work will be the National Trust office at the Peak District.

Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with tenant farmers, partners, and colleagues, to identify opportunities for nature’s recovery and climate mitigation and adaption. Within the High Peak, you’ll foster collaboration between all those involved in the Landscape Recovery Scheme project to create a nature-rich and resilient landscape, and sustainable and resilient (farm) businesses.

You will also coordinate a programme of workshops, as well as internal and external events and which demonstrate best practice and explore the range of funding opportunities to help our tenants deliver nature rich landscapes whilst supporting the rural economy.

You’ll regularly be out on-site connecting with land managers where they live and work, this will include farm visits and time with the project team in Edale, High Peak or Ilam in the White Peak.

Occasional out of hours working will be required, for which you can take time in lieu. Due to the nature of this role you’ll need to get to and from sites in rural locations, we encourage you to consider how you will manage the travel required prior to applying.
