We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Plymouth to assist with the appointment of a Caseworker, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £12.18 - £14.68 per Hour
Responsibilities:
- To take responsibility for the identification and action for children with Statements undergoing phased transfer including writing the Amendments to Statements of Special Educational Needs within the statutory deadlines as laid down in the DFE SEN Code of Practice.
- To liaise and work closely with the Admissions Team to ensure the allocation of places including phased transfers is carried out in accordance with Plymouth Authoritys Admission Policy.
- To be solely responsible for ensuring that approximately 450 Statements of Special Educational Needs are maintained, reviewed and amended annually in accordance with statutory timelines. This is approximately 33% of the total number of Statements.
- To be responsible for undertaking casework for new assessments of special educational needs which totals approximately 250 per year.
- To be responsible for corresponding with parents/carers and professionals through each stage of the assessment process, including giving, requesting and chasing up of information.
Qualifications:
- Two GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths and English OR NVQ II in Business Admin
- Two years or more experience in an office environment
- Experience of working under pressure to meet deadlines
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team
