Applications are invited from suitably qualified Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers interested to join our fantastic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service based in High Wycombe, Bucks. You will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children, young people and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

This role carries an incentive premium of £3,500 which will be paid in instalments over an 18 month period. Please note that this scheme is not open to existing employees of Oxford Health and is subject to a claw back clause. 

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner you will be responsible for initial assessments, delivery and evaluation of care and providing psycho-educational advice and practical support to young people and their families by drawing on evidence- based interventions and using a collaborative, recovery focused approaches.

This post is based in our Getting More Help (GMH) part of their service. Risk assessment and management including the need for positive risk taking is an important part of the role. You will contribute to the clinical leadership of the team, providing supervision for other team members and participate in the team service development and evaluation.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Bucks CAMHS team are an innovative and supportive multi-disciplinary team. We have a strong ethos around staff well-being and ensuring a wide range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities are available to everyone. We offer robust clinical and caseload supervision to facilitate a supportive working environment. 

This is a varied and rewarding role within a highly supportive team. Clinical Supervision and CPD are priorities for the service.

Essential criteria

Relevant professional mental health qualification as Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker Current registration with relevant professional body: NMC, HCPC, BACP Evidence of continuous professional development

Desirable criteria

Post graduate qualification in therapeutic modality e.g. IAPT CBT

Experience

Essential criteria

Experience of being a Care coordinator or managing a case load Significant post qualifying mental health experience. Working knowledge of community services.

Knowledge and experience of a range of evidence-based interventions i.e. motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy and a psychological therapy (i.e. CBT/DBT) Student supervisor All new starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process, aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
