Training Hubs are the go-to place for information about the primary care workforce, education, and development. They are vital to supporting primary care transformation by developing the current and new workforce required to deliver world-class patient care.

Core functions are:

Support PCNs with the breadth of workforce planning and embedding new roles through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) Advise on, develop, deliver, or procure education and training for the primary care workforce Support educational placements in PCNs and practices and the training and development of clinical supervisors and educators, CPD, management and admin skills as well as clinical practice specialty or refresher training Offer career support to staff from new to practice, mid and late career Implement initiatives to support recruitment and retention

The role will provide project leadership and programme management on the delivery of several strategic projects within the Training Hub such as fellowships, GP recruitment and retention initiatives, ARRS implementation and workforce planning.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role include:

Delivering projects across the organisation, on time, within budget and to the agreed scope. Working with Training Hub, Primary Care team and PCNs to develop project plans and documentation and guide teams through the project lifecycle. Ensuring project roles and responsibilities are established for each project and ensure all stakeholders are aware of the project management processes that they will participate in. Managing project risks, issues and changes and monitor project progress, ensuring stakeholders are updated and that everyone can meet their required deliverables within the project timescales. Ensuring a cohesive approach and consistency across programmes of work, engaging with senior stakeholders, managing budgets and planning, supporting and facilitating progress of the projects.

Experience and Skills Required:

Experience of working in primary care and healthcare education and training would be highly valued Experienced, competent, and organised Project Manager Highly skilled and effective communicator, able to interact with staff at all levels Significant project management experience including meeting demanding deadlines, whilst ensuring a high quality of operational delivery

ROLE PURPOSE / SUMMARY

The Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System will comprise the Integrated Care Board (ICB), which is the statutory body for the NHS, and the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), which is a committee of the ICB, and brings together key health, care, community and voluntary sector organisations across the area.

The ICS has a bold ambition to deliver improved outcomes for our population through our four Alliances, and we are placing clinical and professional leadership and the voice of our residents at the heart of realising this ambition.

Funded by NHS England, Workforce Training and Education, the Primary Care Training Hub is part of the system's People Directorate. Training Hubs are the go-to place for information about the primary care workforce, education, and development. They are vital to supporting primary care transformation by developing the current and new workforce required to deliver world-class patient care.

Training Hubs are responsible for implementing a wide range of recruitment and retention initiatives including: Career development and support for all staff in primary care from new to practice to mid and late career ; Approval of Training Practices and Educators; Support PCNs with the breadth of workforce planning and embedding new roles through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS); Procurement and development of education and training for the primary care staff. The Primary Care Workforce Project Manager plays a pivotal role as part of the Training Hub management team. A key focus of the role is supporting PCNs and their provider partners to undertake effective workforce planning to inform ICS, regional and national workforce plans. By designing, developing and managing a wide range of programmes the role supports Primary Care to recruit, develop and retain their workforce.
