Unit Sister

**About the Role**:
St Luke's Hospice in Thurrock has an exciting opportunity for two unit sisters to join our in-patient unit at our Thurrock site, with the expectation that Basildon will be covered when needed.

There is one full-time position (37.5 hours per week) and one part-time role (22.5 hours per week), with the hours worked Monday to Friday, in support of staff who work Monday to Sunday.

The responsibilities of the roles will include:

- the day-to-day running of the unit,
- staff management,
- patient admissions and discharges from the unit,
- operational management of the unit, in conjunction with the head of patient services,
- promoting high-quality care to patients,
- leading a team to deliver effectively.

All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience:

- A relevant nursing degree.
- Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
- Flexibility with working hours to cover colleagues.
- Flexibility to accommodate the team’s needs, as well as as a member of the wider clinical team.
- Ability to act as an effective role model.
