About the Role

The Primary Care Careers team is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented GP Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. As a GP Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our GPs and contributing to the smooth running of our primary care services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming and outgoing clinical correspondence, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Extract relevant information from clinical documents for coding purposes.
  • Arrange appointments, referrals, tests, and follow-up appointments, streamlining patient flow.
  • Complete basic forms and core elements of more complex forms for GP approval and signature.
  • Support patient experience by reiterating information from the GP, enhancing patient satisfaction.
  • Assist with practice tasks, including administrative duties and basic clinical support.
  • Liaise with outside agencies to arrange admissions, ensuring seamless coordination.
  • Support the prescription clerk team, contributing to efficient medication management.
