As Lead Test Automation Engineer, you’ll be working with the Test Analysts, Software Developers, Product Owners and Business Analysts in Simplyhealth to assure software solutions based on the business needs. As well as being hands on with the testing side across a number of projects from small to large scale, you’ll also offer the test team technical leadership and mentoring and helping with their training and development needs. The Test Automation Lead will also be responsible for working on the technical roadmap and strategy for automation as well as the delivery of this strategy over time.

You’ll be an advocate for agile development frameworks and will coach Test Automation Engineers to improve their effectiveness and take action to remedy any deficiencies to help create a positive working relationship in the scrum teams in ultimately ensuring the solutions delivered are fit for purpose and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

Help in defining and implementing quality and test processes in-line with the AGILE & SCRUM principles. Contributing to the delivery of strategy, recognising strategic imperatives and the impacts on own area of work. Define the automation strategy and ensure that the automation best practices are followed by all squads Collaborate with the automation team to define the frameworks & tech stacks that will provide the most benefit to Simplyhealth. Contributing to the overall quality of test scripts by performing reviews for other Test Analysts. Ensuring that test scenarios and test automation scripts are prepared in a structured way, prioritised to reflect business or technical priorities, and are approved by appropriate stakeholders. Coach and mentor the Test Automation Engineers and support them in their training and personal development. Working with Software Developers to ensure that defects raised are fixed and re-tested effectively and promptly.

About You

To be considered you must have:

·Proven experience of leading and coaching and mentoring a team of QA automation engineers and/or QA engineer Performing test automation for software applications, delivering high quality solutions on a range of medium to large scale projects. Experience working in an AGILE Environment, ideally with an understanding of the shift left approach Proficient in UI and API Testing Confident in a range of Test Automation frameworks (i.e Selenium, Appium, Playwright and RestAssured Knowledge of Javascript and/or Typescript
