An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established team of Physiotherapists working within the Community Respiratory Team in Edinburgh. The Community Respiratory Team delivers an admission prevention service for patients with severe COPD and supports the hospital discharge of these patients. All patients are seen in their own homes.

The Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner is integral to the team, providing supported self management to patients. This may include promoting independence and function, breathlessness and anxiety management, rehab activities, and equipment assessment /provision. The Community Respiratory Team works closely with primary and secondary care colleagues including a Respiratory Consultant, GPs, Nurses, Psychologists, Pharmacists and the Scottish Ambulance Service. We also work collaboratively with third sector organisations such as Grapevine, Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland and Vocal.

The Community Respiratory Team is part of the wider Physio@Home and Associated Services with access to regular in-service training and support.
