Cambridge, United Kingdom Jagex Limited Full time

Are you a Producer looking for a fresh challenge and interested in working on a brand new game?

As part of your role you'll be responsible for overseeing the smooth running and development of several initiatives towards project roadmap and release targets. You will be quality focused and lead by example, demonstrating the ability to support and improve planning, development and release processes on a continuous basis to meet product vision and quality goals.

Partnering closely with project Directors, Leads, QA and the wider Production team, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of the Production discipline to ensure the teams you support have a productive day-to-day workflow. You will initiate credible and easily understandable long-term plans and set yourself up for success to deliver against them.

To be successful in this role you'll need to be player, product, and quality focused, leading by example, developing trust and respect amongst the team. You will be a motivator and build cross-team communication and relationships. You will guide and support the team to form a collaborative approach that establishes the highest standards and sets the tone for project culture and values.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own key areas of delivery for the game through all phases of production
  • Partner closely with the Senior Producer, Development Director and the entire Production team to deliver short and long-term development and roadmap objectives.
  • Work with the Leads & Directors to understand the expectations for the quality and functionality of design, technical and content features. Assist in driving the clear communication of these requirements, expected outcomes, and priorities.
  • Be the first line of contact for day-to-day development within your areas of responsibility. Work closely with the game team to continually adapt and improve production processes to best support your teams' individual needs.
  • Monitor progress within your teams, providing regular reporting on accomplishments, development status, issues and risks for your assigned areas.
  • Proactively identify and solve problems to ensure the smooth running of the teams, escalating as needed. Define mitigation plans that deliver on great outcomes for the team and product.
  • Drive necessary conversations between teams to tackle blockers, dependencies & shared areas of responsibility, ensuring the outcomes are clear and well understood by all.
  • Exemplify best practices within the project in line with the defined processes, providing coaching and mentoring to more junior production team members.
  • Create good working relationships, helping foster cross-team communication. Serve as custodian of team wellbeing and foster a culture of success.
  • Conduct regular, effective retrospectives and post-mortem reviews with the development teams. Communicate concerns clearly to Directors, Leads & Senior Production. Assist in the creation & roll-out of related action plans.

What we're looking for:

  • Shipped one or more games as a Producer or higher level.
  • Understanding of game development processes and product direction.
  • Strong analytical mind with excellent people and communication skills.
  • A great communicator that understands what is working, what is of concern and what needs to be improved.
  • Experience managing large projects with Agile or hybrid project management principles and practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with JIRA, Shotgun or similar project tracking software is essential.
  • Avid gamer is a plus, with a passion for creating innovative and compelling new games.
