The Chief Medical Officer is a key leadership role, instrumental in shaping the development of the clinical strategy that will underpin the continued transformation of the Trust; and for providing expert advice to the Chief Executive and Board of Directors. This role exists to empower our clinicians to improve services, to equip them with the data, skills and resources that they need, and to hold them accountable for the quality of care they deliver.

We are looking for an energetic and hands-on Chief Medical Officer who will get the best out of our clinical workforce, particularly our doctors; a candidate that has the leadership to build on our success to date and enable us to strengthen collaborative working to deliver improved patient benefits. The ability to work as an equal partner alongside the Chief Nurse as the two clinical advisors to the Board will be vital to the success of the organisation, as well as taking lead responsibility for clinical engagement and leadership.

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership across the entirety of our service portfolio working in partnership with the Chief Nurse. We are seeking an experienced clinical leader able to demonstrate a track record of successfully leading multi-professional teams to improve patient access, treatment and outcomes across dispersed and diverse services, experience of developing and strengthening clinical engagement in decision making and leading continuous change and improvement in services. You will be collegiate and collaborative in your approach and adept at inspiring and providing practical support to clinical staff to realise change. Above all else we are seeking an individual whose personal values mirror our own and whose priorities are firmly focussed on developing and delivering outstanding services that are accessible to all.
