DescriptionAs a Product Quality and Analysis Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and compliance of our wood biomass and animal bedding products. This position involves working closely with the production, H&S and operations teams to implement rigorous quality control processes, conduct detailed product analyses, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance and Control

  • Support and maintain a robust quality control systems and procedures to ensure consistent product quality across all production stages.
  • Monitor and verify the quality of raw materials, including wood and additives, ensuring they meet company standards and specifications.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks during production to detect and address deviations or defects in real time.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer requirements and comply with industry standards and certifications.
  • Maintain and update quality control documentation, including quality manuals, inspection protocols, and compliance reports.
  • Prepare and submit detailed quality reports to site management, highlighting trends, non-conformance issues, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure that all testing and inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained according to schedule.

Product Analysis

  • Perform detailed physical, and performance analyses of wood biomass and animal bedding products to evaluate properties such as moisture content, particle size distribution, bulk density, and durability.
  • Utilise laboratory and analytical tools to assess product characteristics and identify potential improvements or issues.
  • Analyse production data and identify patterns or anomalies, using findings to recommend adjustments to production processes.
  • When requested benchmark product quality against industry standards and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.

Compliance and Standards

  • Ensure all production activities and products comply with relevant regulations and certifications, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Prepare for and support external audits by certification bodies, addressing any non-conformance findings promptly.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure continuous compliance and innovation.

Customer Focus and Feedback Management

  • Investigate customer feedback and complaints regarding product quality, conducting root cause analysis to identify underlying issues.
  • Develop and implement alongside management corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate findings and solutions to customers, maintaining a professional and service-oriented approach.
  • Work with the sales and customer support teams to develop product guides and quality assurance documentation for end-users.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, including waste reduction, efficiency improvements, and resource conservation.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance quality and operational performance.
  • Lead cross-functional quality improvement projects, involving production, logistics, and supply chain teams.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to production staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and foster a culture of excellence.

Health, Safety, and Environmental 

  • Ensure that all quality and production processes align with the company’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental sustainability.
  • Conform and support protocols to minimise risks and ensure safe handling of materials and products.
  • Contribute to the company’s sustainability initiatives by optimising product performance and reducing waste.
