Job Overview

Cascade Europe is a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of materials handling equipment and related technologies. We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to maintain and improve our quality assurance processes at our fork manufacturing plant in Openshaw, Manchester.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure consistent product quality throughout production. This includes conducting regular inspections, audits and testing to monitor and improve product quality, identifying and resolving quality issues, root causes and defects in a timely manner, and managing non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions and preventative actions (CAPAs) to ensure continual improvement.

The role also involves performing statistical analysis (SPC, Six sigma) to track quality trends and initiate improvement projects, supporting the maintenance of the quality management systems (QMS) in alignment with ISO standards and other regulatory requirements, managing customer related topics such as complaints, warranty, technical reports and solutions, and supplier quality management.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Material Science, or a related technical field.
  • Root cause analysis experience (8D, 5Y, FMEA) that is solutions focused.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer.
  • Good technical understanding of welding, NDT and heat treatment processes.
  • Adopts a 'go see' approach to shop floor environment and engages with workforce.
  • In depth understanding of quality control procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Results orientated.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
