Overview

Location: Head Office, Altrincham (Hybrid working)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

The Programme Manager in Business Change & Transformation will play a key role in making Lookers better for our customers, simpler for our colleagues and more efficient to run. You’ll achieve this through identifying opportunities to improve the systems, ways of working and our operating model, making a ‘case of change’, then delivering through a prioritised programme of projects. You’ll work closely with the Director of Change and Transformation in doing so.

Accountabilities of the Role

Managing a portfolio of projects, supporting the prioritisation of these projects over a 1-3 year time horizon. Build teams that can deliver successful project outcomes, using internal and external resources. Successful delivery of projects using the most appropriate project methodology for each, based on scale, complexity and risk profile. Directly and indirectly manage a team of project managers. Provide them with mentoring, coaching, issue handling and expertise to ensure successful delivery and personal development of team members. Provide oversight of the Programme spend vs. agreed budgets and benefits realisation. Support the creation, management, and delivery of business change communication with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation. Embraces and drives a continuous learning culture where the development of new skills and knowledge is paramount to the success of the Change & Transformation team.

Skills and Knowledge

Ability to demonstrate role model leadership behaviours including communication, collaboration and the recognition and development of their team, comprising regular performance and development conversations, in-time feedback, and coaching. Proven experience and successful delivery of business and technical changes across people, process, and technology. Analytical and problem-solving capability. Capable of providing innovative/alternative solutions to progress delivery of work streams within organisational constraints ., technology, budget. Has experience of budgeting and resource allocation procedures. Knowledge of programme / project methods and tools. Identifying, defining, evaluating, planning, tracking, and realising the business benefits of programmes (and/or the projects within them). Establishing and managing reviews at appropriate points, which will inform governance by providing evaluations of progress, methodologies, and continuing relevance.

Experience and Qualifications

AT least one qualification of the following: Agile Foundation & Practitioner, MSP, Prince 2 Foundation & Practitioner, Scrum Master, MOP qualified or equivalent experience. Proven track record in delivering projects / programmes across multiple departments and senior stakeholders. Has managed Programmes and Projects with approved budgets exceeding £1million. In depth knowledge & demonstrable experience of multiple change delivery methodologies (Agile and Waterfall) portfolio management, business change, business analysis, testing, development lifecycle, PMO processes and functions, business case creation and financial budget management
