Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available within children's services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in the London Borough Havering. We are seeking a full time enthusiastic Children looked after practitionerwho will lead and support the service to deliver equitable service, leading to the best outcomes for Children. The service itself operates a 9am-5pm Monday -Friday s from the main site in Romford, which is a short walk away from the TFL Elizabeth Line.

Main duties of the job

This role requires a practitioner with the appropriate professional or regulatory body ( HCPC, SWE, NMC BABCP) with experience of delivering Psychological Therapies/intervention in a CAMHS setting.

The role involves offering support to the network around care experienced children. This includes providing consultation and support to Social Workers, Foster Carers, Connected Persons Foster Carers, Schools and Residential Placement Workers. The aim is to agree a shared approach to support the child or young person. Drawing on developmental trauma and attachment and development models to understand children's behaviour and functioning in the context of their experiences and bring this information together into a formulation. The role will also involve assessing and treating Looked After Children (LAC) who present with a moderate to severe mental health difficulties in a community CAMHS setting.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436).

The post holder will receive regular clinical supervision from a senior family therapist and will be expected to attend and participate in MDT team meetings as well as CPA meetings of cases on their case load. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social care professionals and partnership agencies as we promote a trauma informed model of practice within the service. CPD opportunities will be available.
