Hays Social Care are looking for a Support Manager to support a Charity in Downpatrick.

Hays Social Care are working with a client in Downpatrick who are passionate about improving the lives of vulnerable people, offering them support and companionship. Their wish is to encourage an enhanced quality of life, dignity and respect for elderly people.  

Your new role
As the Support Manager, you will be pivotal in the success of running the house to ensure excellent service delivery – being at the centre of the day to day running as well as being the representative for visitors and prospective residents. Working in conjunction with the Housing & Support Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the House, manage staff absences and return to work interviews, organise house activities for residents and conduct quarterly house meetings with all staff. You will plan and prepare nutritious meals and create healthy and hearty weekly menus. You will ensure that there is a caring, homely and secure environment, be responsible for monitoring residents’ needs assessments, risk assessments and support plan processes. You will be responsible for monitoring compliance, managing health and safety, hygiene compliance and assist in the application and development of policies and procedures to ensure the service meets and exceeds the Supporting People requirements.  What you'll need to succeed
You will be a natural born communicator with a calm approach and a specific passion for improving the lives of older people, have the ability to plan and prepare meals for up to ten people, work on your own initiative and the ability to keep records, monitor stock and purchases. You will be passionate about encouraging dignity, respect and quality of living for elderly people. Knowledge or previous experience within a supported housing / social care environment, a food qualification and first aid in the workplace would be an advantage.
