THE ROLE

Reporting to the HR Director, the role is responsible for leading strategic organisational development activities across Global Media and Streaming ultimately partnering the CEO GM&S and supporting the regional HR teams to embed the change locally.

This role will involve substantive collaboration with the central HR teams to critically influence, shape and scope organisational design and future development activity needed to support the growth of the Global Media and Streaming business.

Oversee the Global HR team ensuring the right context is set for effective delivery against our strategy, that we have consistency in approach where appropriate, delivery of best practice HR and consistently high standards of service delivery

Lead the HR vision for Global Media and Streaming, role model great personal and team leadership while ensuring organisational change is embedded successfully locally.

Key Responsibilities

Partner the CEO Global Media and Streaming to ensure organisational change and people priorities are delivered in a consistent way globally. Be a member of the Global Media and Streaming Leadership Team working with the CEO to develop them as a high performing team. Develop innovative and tailored operating model options that align with our strategic goals. Support the regional teams to design and lead engaging workshops that foster active participation to achieve outcomes. Work in partnership with the Performance and Capabilities team to: lead capability mapping exercises to identify, assess and prioritise capabilities for Global Media and Streaming growth areas. devise and implement strategies to build and maximise critical leadership capabilities across all Global Media and Streaming leaders Use and understand BBC tools and policies, engaging with regional clients effectively to ensure their use across the organisation Coach and develop the capability of senior managers in the Global Media and Streaming leadership team to anticipate and pre-empt organisational issues Participate in projects, leading and promoting the BBC’s reputation as a leading organisation and employer of choice Keep up-to-date with external trends and best practice in the areas of expertise and HR more broadly Continuously implement improvements in tools and policies through external market trends, insight and internal best practice Proactively share best practice, intelligence and potential pan-BBC activities within HR

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

Extensive relevant HR experience in delivering global OD gained in large complex organisation(s) with multiple stakeholders (including matrix relationships) Experience in supporting teams across both US and UK regions would be advantageous Extensive experience of operating in a business partner model, working with local managers to create positive business outcomes. Experience of partnering senior leaders through significant change and growth Experience of influencing and challenging perspectives at a senior level with the resilience to pursue the optimal outcome for the business Provides strategic and directional leadership to a senior team of regional HR professionals Knowledge of current thinking in HR issues and trends; evidence of Continuing Professional Development. Communicates, challenges and influences a variety of stakeholders effectively. Ability to present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others. Can draw from a range of strategies to persuade people in a way that results in agreement or behaviour change. Where necessary resolves conflicts and disputes calmly and effectively. Adapts and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups. Is able to understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives on an issue, to adapt an approach as the requirements of a situation change and to change or easily accept changes in one’s own organisation or job requirements. Creates strategic partnerships both within and outside of the BBC.
