Job Description

As a Payroll Supervisor you will oversee and lead a team of payroll professionals ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of end-to end payroll services while maintaining high customer satisfaction and team performance. This role combines technical payroll expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to process improvement in a dynamic retail environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for store payroll oversight & checking payroll data and internal controls delivering an excellent customer experience.
  • Be a main support for the payroll team, advising and guiding where necessary and encouraging continuous improvement and a solution focused way of working.
  • Ensuring the internal controls are maintained and up to date
  • Liaising with external auditors and ensure timely responses to the payroll related questions.
  • Ensuring you and your team undertake continuous professional development in relation to any regulations or legislation changes with impact on Payroll, Benefits & Master Data.
  • Producing, analysing and actioning payroll reporting to meet internal and external obligations.
  • Working with Accounts team in regards of tax, reconciliation and HMRC queries.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has proven experience in managing an end-to-end UK payroll process.

We are looking for people who have:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in payroll leadership role
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying updated on payroll trends and legislation
  • Experience of working with external audit
  • Previous experience of using SAP
  • An understanding of PAYE compliance
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Good to have:

Accounting qualification or CIPP diploma in payroll management
