Job summary
We are looking to recruit a practitioner psychologist to join our Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health- Interventions Team. We can offer this competency post as a band 7 or a band 8a (see below for more details).
This post sits within the Interventions Team of the Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Care Group (previously SpecialistCamhs). As well as being part of an established group of psychological therapists you will also be part of a wider MDT that value psychologicalthinking and practice.
We are in the position to recruit a Psychologist who already has the competence and experience relevant to an 8a position, or a Psychologist who meets the qualification, training and competence for a band 7 post. In the case of the latter, we are able to offer a professional knowledge and skills based development plan that will provide you with the opportunity to acquire the appropriate skills, competencies and development to enable your progression into the 8a role within an appropriate timescale.

Main duties of the job
As well as providing specialist psychological intervention to young people and their families, this post will involve; care coordination of complexyoung people and their systems, management and supervision of other team members, consultation and service development.
The successful candidate will have highly developed skills in engaging children, young people and their families experiencing significant will also be able to work flexibly and creative ways to consider how all aspects of the service is psychologically informed.
The post is permanent, and hours per week. Part-time hours may be considered. The service also operates a hybrid model of in person andvirtual working.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential
Good Honours degree in Psychology with eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the BPS. Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology accredited by the HCPC (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 as accredited by the BPS HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
Experience

Experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties in an NHS setting; problems presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, in-patient and residential care settings Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan Experience of teaching/training and/or professional and clinical supervision
Skills

Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups Ability to plan and organise a range of clinical or service-related activities and programmes Ability to implement agreed policies and strategic long-term service developments
