An exciting opportunity to join the Business Management team supporting the Prudential Assurance Company (PAC) and M&G Life business.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates passion to help enable customers achieve great outcomes. You will report into the Director of Business Management, and work with a broad remit and senior stakeholder group with responsibility for Business and Executive Governance. This will include reporting of key priorities, challenges, issues and risks to provide visibility and management of strategic business objective.

You will have a critical role establishing and overseeing requirements to support Senior Management Function (SMF) responsibilities and align Senior Manager Certificate Regime (SMCR) success across PAC and M&G Life. You will work directly with stakeholders in the first line of defense providing guidance and challenge to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective governance and policy, ensuring policy is followed and that it remains up-to-date and relevant.

This is a hybrid office/home based role with the successful candidate expected to spend on average 2-3 days a week working from M&G’s Office in London, Edinburgh or Stirling, with travel as and when necessary in support of responsibilities.

​ Primary Key Responsibilities

Deliver coordination and consistent production of reporting to relevant Boards and governance; Deliver a range of initiatives to different parts of the business to enable SMF responsibilities; Manage policy and framework, including entity level attestation, and guidance to business owners which enable assurance policy standards are met; Embed M&G Life culture and values

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

Excellent influencing skills, ability to interact with senior internal and external stakeholders across a broad remit; Self-motivated, and resilient, diplomatic but persuasive operating effectively at a senior level; Excellent organisational skills and recognition of prioritisation and deadlines; The ability to work at pace to tight deadlines, using own initiative and with minimal supervision; Strong analytical thinking and a critical evaluator of information/issues; Excellent report writing capability and ability to interpret key messages holistically; Experienced use of Excel, Powerpoint, MetricStream, PowerBI, Project Management Tools; Experience of liaising, influencing and negotiating effectively with all internal and external parties and stakeholders. Experience of attendance at and/or reporting to governance forums such as boards and senior level committees, both preparation of materials and presentation of same; Experience of drafting and maintaining Governance/Policies/Frameworks would be beneficial.
