Knowledge, skills and training

Essential criteria

HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist & eligibility for Chartered Status with the British Psychological Society.

Job specific experience

Essential criteria

Demonstrable post qualification experience at least 2 years as a Clinical Psychologist Previous experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of children and/or people with a wide range of mental health problems, of varying severity and complexity. Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups across the life span - in professional management in relation to the children in care and post-care client group and their physical and mental health. Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS & HCPC.

Managerial/supervisory experience

Essential criteria

Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision with a multi-agency setting

Information Technology

Essential criteria

Basic IT skills, normally obtained through practice or practical training (e.g. for RiO/Mosaic).

Personal qualities/attributes

Essential criteria

Ability to sustain professional composure in complex situations including situations of violence and aggression within a range of environments.
