Job Title: Community Mental Health Practitioner

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Dorset HealthCare. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with service users, families, and carers to provide high-quality mental health support and interventions.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions to service users, using evidence-based approaches and techniques.

• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

• Conduct assessments, risk assessments, and reviews to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with service users, families, and carers to promote engagement and empowerment.

Person Specification:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.

• Positive attitude and high level of self-awareness, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

• At least 12 months of experience working with mental health patients, with a focus on therapeutic group work.

• Ability to work with service users with challenging behaviors, using de-escalation techniques and crisis management strategies.

• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
