About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Dorset HealthCare. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with service users, families, and other professionals to provide high-quality mental health services.

Main Responsibilities

As a Community Mental Health Practitioner, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for service users with mental health needs.
  • Delivering therapeutic interventions, including individual and group work, to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with service users, families, and carers to promote engagement and empowerment.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to the development of care plans.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Experience of working with mental health patients, including those with complex needs.
  • Knowledge and skills in therapeutic group work, including facilitation and leadership.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a high level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
